Spring has Sprung!

Reticulated python at Noah's Ark. Do not let the perspective fool you. That thing was as big around as Lailey.
No exaggeration. Over 20 feet long too. She was quite displeased to find out it ate frozen rabbits.
Spring, while quite hesitant to show up this year in Georgia, seems to be here to stay. We've been getting outside when we can and enjoying the weather. I'm actually getting around to uploading some of these pics off my phone, not just my Nikon. Guess the spring weather has made me ambitious. Usually phone pics stay on there forever, but some of these are pretty cute, so I had to add them in.
Enjoying the bridge and the ducks
Now, don't let all the pictures fool you. Sometimes when we put ourselves on display online, on social media, and on blogs, it can look like we lead this idyllic, picture perfect life full of activities, experiences, and happy times. Pinterest also contributes to this "everything must be perfect" ideal, and it can lead to discontent with our current life. Maybe I'm the only one, though I think not. Often it feels like most of my life is filled with dirty laundry (or clean laundry yet to be put away), dishes, grocery shopping, vacuuming, kissing boo boos, giving baths, splitting up feuding siblings, and all the little things in life that no one takes a pretty picture of and posts. But it's these little things, the "unglorified moments," which we need to enjoy and cherish.

Dirty laundry = plenty of clothes to wear, now dirty from the fun we had

Dishes = healthy meals to fill our tummies

Grocery shopping = the ability to walk on my own two feet and buy food to provide for my family

Vacuuming = a house to live in and stay warm

Kissing boo boos = two active and healthy kids

Giving baths = clean running water (a luxury we often forget)

Splitting up feuding siblings = my two children, who share and get along more than they don't

So, enjoy the little moments, no matter if they're worthy of a blog post or not.

Here are a few things we've been doing the last couple months...
Lailey at the Passover Seder at our church.
It was so incredible!
Lego building, a new hobby of hers
Built almost entirely by herself. I was impressed, since this is a new skill.
Maddox's first trip to the dentist. He looks so OLD!
He loved the spinning polisher thing so much he kept asking her to do it after the cleaning. Silly boy!
Aaaaaaaand, there goes the dental floss. The enjoyment was obviously worth it.
More Legos
Just a boy...and his bunny.
(I guess we do have fun grocery shopping!)
Sidewalk paint
1 cup of cornstarch, 1 cup of water, food coloring, and foam brushes.
Lailey's favorite part was playing with it in her hands because of the unique texture.
Porch watercolor painting
This girl loves to paint
If I need a little "quiet time" (i.e. a short break from the non-stop talking of my extremely verbal children),
I pull out the paint.

Her "solar system," initiated and drawn by herself.
I'll save the pictures of the dirty laundry and dishes for next time. :)

What are the things they are wearing over their clothes and where did you get them?

Art smocks from Ikea. Christmas present a couple years ago. We LOVE them!
