Slowly but surely, our little one is crawling! It's been so incredibly fun to watch the process as she's figured out how to push up, get up on hands and knees, scoot backwards, rock back and forth, bunny hop with her knees, lift her hands, then lift her knees, and then get it all together and move forward. I have never watched this learning process so closely before, and it's quite incredible how many prerequisite skills are required to do such a thing. Next time I crawl across the floor with her, I'll be sure to remember that.
Also, Lailey is much better now, but we found out on Monday that she had the flu. This surprised us and our pediatrician for a few reasons: 1) She had had the first round of the flu shot. 2) She definitely didn't "look" like she had the flu, according to the doctor. Apparently, kids typically look a lot worse off. 3) She was still eating and nursing well the whole time. By that evening after we took her in to the doctor's office, she was already looking and feeling much better, and by the next day her fever was down. We're praising the Lord for her quick recovery and, except for an occasional cough that is fading every day, she has no lasting effects.

Oh boy and the fun starts ;) and your babyproofing begins! I'm sorry Lailey had the flue - that's horrible! McKenzie had a double ear infection but never really showed the classic signs of it so I didn't really know...I thought she had a cold like I had. She's on the up and up now with a lingering cough as well.
