Maddox - 1 month old!

Maddox turned one month old on Tuesday, September 6th. My intention to post some pictures that day turned into an intention to do it Wednesday, then Thursday...and now Sunday night.  At least I got 'em on here. Here's what he's up to these days...

• Smiling! Yeah, it's adorable. You catch his eye, make some goofy noises (Davey's an expert), and first it starts in his eyes, then the sides of his little mouth start creeping up, and before you know it, the tiny little guy is giving you a gummy grin. It took a while to get this picture, but persistence paid off.

•  "Playing" with big sister, if you can call it that. Thankfully, Lailey is very sweet and affectionate and any problems we've had are from her not understanding how little he is and things he can't do. I'm sure if I recorded all the things I've said in the last month, it would be hilarious. Example: "Lailey, Maddox can't drink apple juice yet" (while the sippy cup is being oh-so-lovingly stuck in his mouth). Or, "Thank you for sharing your miney [blanket] but please don't stick it over his head." Or, "No, sweetie, I'm sorry. You can't nurse him with your boobies."

• Enjoying bath time. He's very relaxed and happy in the water, and doesn't hardly fuss even when he has to get out.

•  Sleeping! He is a very sleepy kid. In fact, I still have to wake him during the day for most feedings. And he is sleeping around 7 hours at night. Yeah, I'm very blessed. I do believe it is possible to help your child sleep through the night (thank you, Baby Wise book), but at 1 month Maddox has made sleeping his profession.

• Being the perfect fit to our family. Of course, he'd be a perfect fit no matter how he slept or ate or anything like that. We love our little man!

This short video is not really all that interesting, except for the fact that while Lailey and I are trying to read to Maddox, he's just grinning away. For a few seconds at least.
